Back again with another card, this time it was made especially for Paul .... being last minute annie again I managed to make this on monday! (nowt like leaving it til last minute)

I used papers from a MME 12x12 kit which I had way back in december and the image is SOG! I am dead happy with how this card turned out ....

Totally Ladybug Tuesday ~ New Release Blog Hop!! ~ Spring is in the air!

Good morning!! I am super excited and have been for ages about this new release!!! So much so that Kerry wouldnt let me see any other images other than the one I used for my project (which is beautiful!!)

So ...

Firstly the Hop.. all the DT have not only had to use the challenge theme, but they have also each used one of the new images. There are 9 in all and I'm sure you'll agree when you see their creations the new images are just fabulicious! (None of the DT have seen each others cards either so we can't wait to hop either!)

I want some bright yellow glittery shoes!!

So I am trying to use up old stash as some of you know, and I stumbled upon some papers which I had bought and never even looked at! (whoops) so I started to play around and wanted to try out some new copic colour combos and the result I am happy with!

I love the bright yellow on this card, and I love the hair colour aswell, ok so it is still brown but it is a different shade!!

Can't remember what the papers are, but I think they may be Cosmo Cricket ones ... I glittered up the dots on her dress, and made her shoes totally sparkly and glittery!! only think I am not happy about is the skirt, as they greys haven't blended properly, this doesnt show in real life but for the pic it has?

Following on from yesterdays post ..... using up old stash .... another 2 cards using forever friends toppers, making super quick cards!! I love the sailing one!

Some roughed up edges, some eyelets, an embossing folder used on Coredinations card then rubbed within an inch of its life ....

I made myself start using up some old stash as I have absolutely loads of old papers/ old decoupage etc etc all of which I never even think to use, but when I was sorting through some things I found some forever friends toppers and my challenge was to use some of them up.

They have been sat there nearly a year as I remember I had just had surgery when I made OH take me out to buy them! LOL ... so not bad going in using them up ...

A few more to make to get them used up, but I already have another 2 which are a work in progress, back with pics of those soon!

Bunting ... for Papercuts!

I meant to share this last week, but I just never got around to it. I don't have a picture of it hanging as yet, and these photos were taken on my phone so not brilliant but you get the general idea.

I made up some bunting using the portobello road papers, the bunting, and the buttons from Papermania. I added a mixture of ribbons to look like tales ... it looks much prettier in real life! The letters were cut with a cricut which I did at Papercuts!

Very picture heavy I am afraid but it is so pretty!! ... I am now thinking out ideas for a tinkerbell/disney fairies themed one to hang in my daughters bedroom!

Totally Ladybug Tuesday ~ Loves me, loves me not! & Exciting Ladybug News!

Morning all, Hope everyone is well, boy have we got some fabulicious ladybug news for you today!!

So remember we had a GD call a while back? Well the fab news is that Catherine, Sally and Diane are now part of our permanent ladybug family and all have their fully fledged ladybug wings!!

Also from now on, there will be two prizes on offer each fortnight.

There will be the usual winner chosen at random and another winner who will be chosen from any entries that use a Ladybug Crafts Ink Image.

A quick reminder that you still have until the end of today to purchase any LCI Cling stamps at half price

I also have some more exciting news ... but I am going to wait until the end of the post to tell you ...

So onto todays challenge, Our lovely ladybug Julie chose this fortnights challenge and she chose

Loves me, loves me not

Now for me this was a fab challenge as I couldnt wait to see what everyone else made using the LCI images, I have to admit I expected to see everyone using the love and Marriage stamps, so thought I would be different and use Add on Magnum with his Add on pack! (mind you I love the ladybugs cards, so many different choices!!) I also made 2 cards, just because I can, they are slightly different on the front (flipped the papers) but they both look great and I have decorated the insides of both!

Papers are from Bo Bunny (last years stock I might add!) and they just look fab!! I also added some little papermania wooden letters (look just like scrabble tiles at a cheaper price!) and I think that finishes it off nicely!!

Now want to hear some fabby news??

My valentine ... with a double bow!

Ok so not strictly my valentine, but I did make up this beautiful sample to be displayed in Papercuts Whitley Bay!!

I was under orders to keep it simple and make it beautiful, and I think I managed both ... ok so maybe it could have been more simple but its definately beautiful!

I used Xcut homespun hearts which I nested on top of black cardstock which I double embossed, first with a heart embossing folder, and then in the hearts I used clear embossing powder to make them shiny. I added some ribbon and did a double bow from a tutorial over at Jak Heaths blog. The sentiment I made by trimming some off the paper and mounting it.

I love this card, its so pretty!!

37 years young apparently ... although I always tell him he is old!

so I thought I would share a couple of his birthday cards ... I cant share one as I have used an unreleased image! (no peeking!) but I will share the other one ....

One very paper pieced Maurice!! I think he looks great!! This card is from my Dad and Step mum. The papers are Crate Paper, but believe it or not they are XMAS papers!! .... they are all double sided so I just used the non christmassy side and I reckon it works well!!

I also had a play with some heat embossing, my first ever attempts at this were awful and such a mess, not sure why I couldnt get it to go right and I tried everything ... now 3 years down the line I bought some clear embossing powder and a ink pad and gave it a whirl, the picture doesnt show it that well but in real life you can read it properly ....

The sentiment is from Ladybug Crafts Ink, part of a set from the Wrinkleys range!

Tomorrow I will be back with a very special little card (approx 3x2 inch!!) which my little Maddison made for Daddy ... she did very well with decoupage after I cut it all out for her. Think we have a little crafter in the making!

So I made up some cards for Pauls birthday on thursday .... had a nice selection and one which I made from my Dad and Step mum to give to him, however the children decided to be difficult and both wanted the same card!! (typical!) so this one has now gone in the stock box!

The image I have had for ages, I think it may well have been a freebie a year or so ago? but as with most other images I own it has never been inked/coloured/printed!

Much To Celebrate There Is!...

Morning all, back again with another card to share, this one I absolutely love and it turned out just perfect!!

My lovely friend Lou made a fab Yoda card which I loved, she sent me the image (originally from Google) and I got cracking. the image is beautiful in itself as it is made up from lots of little dots, so I added clear embossing powder in places (eyes, ear, nose, top etc) and it really brought the image out! The paper is MME Lime twist and then I just mounted on card. I made the sentiment with a Dymo Label maker which was cheap in Lidl a few weeks back!

I love the effect and can't wait to give it to OH on his birthday on thursday!!

The inside I kept really simple, I used the green card and punched down the edge. I stamped a Happy birthday sentiment on the inside!

Something non card to share today ....

I bought these fab wooden names for the kids back in July, I painted them using little tester pots of paint, and then left them to dry .... now we all know paint drys in a few hours .... but 6 months on and I finally finished them off .... I wasnt sure wether to gem up the pink one, but found my glitter spray and went with that option, in real life they are quite glittery, but the picture doesn't capture it too well!!

Back tomorrow with a card to share, I have about 8 all in need to being blogged, but I am spending too much time doing other things than blogging! Whoops!

Birthday Cake Easel!! Papercuts Samples!

Morning all! Hope you are all having a good week, as promised I am back and sharing something FAB! I was asked by Jo-Ann and Shirley to make up a sample or 2 using the new Papermania Portabello Road papers, and I still have one which is a WIP but this is all finished and proudly on display in the shop!! It took me lots of hours (about 4 in total) mainly because I converted all of the instructions into CM so I could work easier myself (Maths is not my strong point!) So using these instructions here, and my trusty spreadsheet for conversion I set to .... and here is the finished Cake easel!

Tip of the day .... or at least for making this card ... use a cropodile rather than a normal stationers hole punch, reason being a cropodile on its biggest setting will leave the perfect hole for the candles, a normal hand hole punch is actually bigger and the candles then dont sit flush and wobble around lots!

So last week Jo and Shirley Papercuts – a Slice of Imagination Ltd, in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside to make some cards with stock from CraftStyle and Buzz Craft. The samples needed to be done pretty quick as they were to be aired on Create and Craft!! (who was watching?) Anyway they were aired yesterday with Dawn Bibby, TWICE! So I thought I would share what I made.

Totally Ladybug Tuesday ~ Bows ~ Sue Style

Time for another Totally Ladybug Tuesday!!

This week the lovely Sue chose the theme of

Bows!

So we want to see your bows, wether big or small!!

My bow isn't big and loopy like the other ladybugs, mainly because I can't do them and get them to look pretty, so I did small and sophisticated, I wrapped 2 layers of ribbon and added one for the centre to hold it all in place!

Papers are Prima and I inked up Bathtub Nikki!. I used a MFT die for the border. The fabby ribbon you can get from LCI, and remember that we still have a half price stamp sale on all those beautiful stamps!

Some Odd Girl!!

The title says it all!! These little cuties I have a weak spot for, but tend to buy them and then not get a chance to use them! I bought Flower Girl Mae back in November, and started to colour her immediately! However when I was trying to be clever and experiment with other colours for hair I realised her hair and dress were very close in shade so didnt bother to finish her off!! I decided to use her again last week, and the card has been a WIP as I have been busy making up other samples for the shop! (A big thankyou to Lou Mac for pushing me in the right direction and forcing me to use this image!!) told you she was a bad influence lol

So .... here she is!

Now there is also a story behind the papers ... the papers are Prima, and I hate them ... they are so not me at all, but I am adament I will use up some of my old pads and knew this needed tackling, it was however perfect for this image in these tones, so now I love this image, and this card!!!

Ok so no one mentioned christmas other than to say what sort of time they had, but me being daft forgot to blog this card. I made this card for Paul for christmas, I also decorated the inside but you cant see that cause I forgot to take a photo!

Anyway ...

I used my favourite ever christmas papers, they are Bo Bunny Midnight Frost and I bought them last year (probably around Jan) however I have since found you cant buy them anymore?? If anyone has any they would like to sell then please get in touch!! I want more!!

Morning all, time for another Totally Ladybug Tuesday!!

This week is our last challenge of 2011, This challenge will run until Monday 2nd January, and our new challenge will start at 9am on the Tuesday!

So onto this weeks challenge, we have something a little different this week, Sue stepped in and kept us all right and came up with a fab challenge of

I struggled to choose a line, and kept changing my mind, but I knew that my card had to be bright pink as it was for Heady ladybugs birthday, she knows I hate pink! (last Fri)

So after spending ages trying to decide about what line to choose, I gave up and opted for a full house!!

Now onto my card, you have probably figured out that I hate making christmas cards, I just feel they are so repetative and all look the same!! .... would much rather buy them than make them but each year I get in a flap and think I have made more than I actually have!!

I used papers from Bo Bunny, and layered them up all wonky to each other, I coloured my image using copics (look at my reindeer, I am proud of him!!) added a couple of snowflakes with button centres and a small sentiment. You cant see it properly from the photos but I used glitter on the snowman, and also on the shadows on the ground. Also I missed the snowmans buttons, but that was rectified before I popped him in the post yesterday but I forgot to get another photo! Grr!

Morning all! 24 sleeps until christmas and I am so not finished crafting for it!! Just sharing a quick card I made a couple of weeks ago, I know the ladybugs will see this post and will laugh, as I had a few problems .... I love the card, I love my colouring, but unfortunately my brain was dead and I stuck it all upside down to the base, so for a short while Roadster Nikki was Australian!! Now she is all back the right way up and looking fab!

First time ever that I have inked up Bathtub Nikki!! She is so easy to colour! I coloured her up using copics, giving her some fab rosy red cheeks! I used go kreate dies for the card blank, Magnolia flourish die twice and hid the rest under the image. The flowers are MFT Dienamics flower & Leaf trio die.

Have you spotted my new widgets? last year I had a beautiful tree with a countdown, but it has disappeared this year so I found myseld 2 new widgets, I have a christmas tree on one side, and a countdown on the other.

Nice easy one for you, and I LOVE this challenge as my favourite ever stamp is Daydreaming Ruby, which might I add was my first ever LCI purchase, way back before I became part of the DT!

So I just had to ink up my lovely Ruby stamp, coloured her in Copics and pencils and used papers from First Edition, the sentiment is one I found on google whilst looking for something suitable, so I re typed it in word!

I think this card is fab, I used really old papers from Nitwit, mounted them on black, coloured the image to make him look grubby and added eyelets with ribbon which I also inked up. Then 2 small Woodware screw head brads!! Perfect card for a male!!

A quick make with lots of pinkness!!

If you know me even a tiny bit, then you will know that I dont do pink, I hate pink and would rather pay extra for things if they are not pink (I hate my bigshot cause it has pink on it and even thought about colouring it in!)

Anyway, just sometimes, I have no choice but to make pink cards!! Today is one of those days, I promised myself I would use up lots of loose sheets of papers, and also use up my LOTV diecuts and get cracking with my colouring!

Now ignoring the pink, I absolutely love the card, the layout is great, and everything just fell together!! .... just a shame it is pink!

Just sharing a couple of quick makes, I need to make up some more to add to my card box and I have taken a break from christmas cards!!

Using LOTV diecuts made them even quicker cards, it doesnt show well in the photo but the ribbon actually matches a lot better in real life, not sure why it doesnt show on the photo!

Another quick make, no mounting anywhere, but used a nail file to rough up the edges on both image and papers. MS punch used for the zigzag edge, added 3 eyelets, and the edges of the vehicle paper have all slightly curled when I roughed them up, so I left them unstuck for effect!

I usually hate distressing, and rarely see the point of roughing up edges, but I actually enjoyed this one, and love my card!!

But before I show it to you, I must tell you that we have a new Stamp Of The Month!!

I coloured up Nikki using copics, but kept the majority of the image white and covered in glitter!

Happy Halloween to you all!! I have a few pics to share, although the children wont be going out trick or treating this year we did have some family time watching spooky movies and I did a small buffet! The kids chose what they wanted carving into their pumpkins Paul and I had to carve them as Thomas got bored, and Maddison is still too young.

So onto the buffet, Paul and I were thinking of things we could do which were a bit different, we ended up with Jelly which had witches fingers in (no pic) and angel delight which I hand drew a cobweb on and added a small spider to! We used pasta jars and filled one with green water and added some rice to make maggots, and then in the second we added 6 hard boiled eggs to a pasta jar with red food colouring in to make eyeballs! Both went down well lol

Now you may well spy a couple of spooky characters on the table, I made these for the kids and filled them up with spooky sweets!

And then we have Dracula

Both made by hand, using the Top note die from Stampin up, the ideas came from various blogs, which all come up on google!

The papers are from an old DCWV stack all mounted onto black card and then gold card. I coloured the image in with copics for the skin, belt, hair and piece of wood, but on the karate outfit instead of leaving it white all over I used prisma pencils to add just a touch of shading in places. (cant see it pictured that well in the photo.)

I made 2 cards this week, nice easy simple ones but very effective! (I had started a third but ran out of time due to my little lady being a monkey!!)

So there are both my cards, both of the images have been coloured identically and I used the same layout with both cards. Papers are from a MME pad (cant remember which one!) the web stuff is something that has been in my stash for ages and the sentiments are craftwork cards. I added some blue stickles to the bubbles and puddles of water.

Creating a fine mess .... but not blogging!

I seem to keep making the odd card here and there but then forget to blog them, so the next couple of days I will play catch up hopefully!

Yesterday I made 6 cards in a couple of hours, 4 of those were sympathy cards. I have managed to avoid making them until now, but having found out a friend on MSE has just lost her husband I had to make one to send. I ended up making 3 more identical, and hopefully they will stay in my box of cards for a very very long time!!

The cards are all different, but only just, I used different card blanks, and changed the embossed panel, the sentiment and image are pink petticoat and it comes ready to print.

I love how beautiful the cards look, but in saying they look beautiful it sounds so wrong as they are for such a sad reason!

Time for another Totally Ladybug Tuesday!!

This week it was our lovely Michele's turn to choose a challenge, and I am sure she has it i for me making me do a PINK card! (Thanks Michele! haha xx)

She chose the theme of Circles, pink and chocolate.

I spent an hour at Papercuts yesterday and got to have cuddles with a gorgeous little Pirate called Charlie who is only 10 weeks old, so when I came home i worked on my card and dug out the fabulous Baby Baby set!

I paper pieced the pillow and blacket, added some glitter to the top of the blanket and mounted her onto a Nestie picot edge circle.

This ended up as a tag, but I left it fairly simple as it could easily be mounted to a card blank if needed. I added small pearls to each hole around the smaller circle. Not bad if I do say so myself! If you look closely I was clever enough to line up the lines on the paper of the pillow and blanket with the lines on the paper underneath, not done intentional and I didnt even notice until OH pointed it out to me last night!

I decided to make a tag on its own, or rather 2 of, as they will be put on my childrens main pressy at christmas. I kept them both the same but flipped the image so it faced the other way!

So I thought I would have a little play with Lily one of the christmas range of Digi stamps.

I found some MS little ball things which look just fab on Lily.

Totally Ladybug Tuesday - Stamp of the month! - No designer papers!

Time for another Totally Ladybug Tuesday!! This week it was the lovely Julies turn to set the challenge, she chose the theme of

No Designer Papers!!

But the DT also had another twist, Kerry has decided that for this month only Nikki Running with buttercup will be half price!! so this is our first stamp of the month!

So armed with the stamp, and the challenge of no DP, I set to! I normally panic with challenges like this as I struggle to fill in all the gaps and white bits on my cards! But this one I decided I would really try extra hard, and you know what? I reckon I might have just done it!

So here is Nikki running with Buttercup ...

I coloured Nikki in with copics, added some glamour dust to the ground and some fluffy stuff to the falling snow. I double mounted her onto scallop circle nesties, added a couple of MS snowflakes and a couple of flourishes in pearls. this was then all mounted on some white shimmer card onto lilac and turquoise card. I reckon she looks great! and I reckon the colours look perfect together aswell ... infact I liked her so much that I dug out another Nikki stamp and you will see her tomorrow!

Now I got myself in a bit of a pickle with this, as I thought that an upcoming challenge (end of october) was actually this week, but luckily I was making a card for a friend who has just had surgery on her back (same op as me!) so I managed to add a couple of buttons and join in! Phew! However, its not a birthday card (sorry!) but I guess it could be classes as a birthday card depending on your humour!

I have used a bugaboo image and sentiment and followed loosely on a card made by a friend of mine when I went into hospital nearly 2 years ago!! I copied her sentiment and made it look like a sign hanging!

I had a big dig around in my box full of stamps and decided to use the hightop for my image this week and chose do do an easel card!

I paper pieced the image in 2 different sets of papers and in hindsight I probably should have used a lighter paper on the bag so you can see the lines (they are more visible in real life) the ribbon is also from Ladybug Crafts ink the sentiment is one which comes with the hightop stamp (choice of 3!)

The papers I used are a digi download from Echo park called Abundance.

A Christmas Trio with My Minds Eye!

Just sharing some samples using beautiful papers from My Minds Eye. Everything has come from the Lost and Found christmas range From Papercuts in Whitley Bay!. I used 1 sheet of 12x12 which is double sided, and the elements are from the accessory sheet. I made these up as samples to be used in the shop, but I love the card especially!

First off I made a small Acetate box. First time I have worked with acetate like this so found it tricky to score and bend! but I managed it!

Then I made a matching card. Again using everything from the MME range, but I added a Martha Stewart punched snowflake which I covered in Glamour dust. I {heart} this!

The picture does show some glittery bits, but in real life it is so pretty and sparkly!! I need to win the lottery so I can make hundreds of these cards all identical cause they are so pretty!!!

Then last but not least, I made a teabag holder, again using all the same range of papers and accessories.

Obviously the twinings teabag isn't available in the shop but I figured that a cup of calming tea would be the calm before the storm of christmas!!

And last but not least a pic of all 3 together!

Just popping on to share another few cards I made yesterday. I used Kenny K's Soccer which is a digi and coloured him in with my copics. I kept all cards fairly simple.

All have the same layout, and using the same image and range of papers!

This last one I tried to be a bit clever and hand drew fine lines with a pencil to make stripes! as you know my OH is a Newcastle fan so seemed appropriate I tried!! it turned out great and I am quite impressed with my colouring as I have never tried to shade with blacks/greys like this.

Sarah Kay Tea light card - Without the tea lights!

Spotted these fab cards a while back and found some instructions on how to make. The lovely Jo-Ann at Papercuts asked me to make up a sample using a Sarah Kay stamp so I thought I would give one a try. All of the products I have used (apart from the flower die) can be purchased at Papercuts in Whitley Bay!

The image is Sarah Kay - Antoinette and Bessa go for a stroll, which I coloured with my copics and prisma pencils. I used Large circle, and Large scallop circle nesties. The papers are First Edition Summer Breeze. The flowers are a Die-namics die.

The inside has again been decorated using the First edition papers from the same range. This time I used a Lacey circle and large circle nestie inside the card. The box inside would normally have tea lights inside, but I didn't have any and decided to use chocolate eclairs! I know which I would prefer!!

For my project I decided to make something for me, now I am reading a lot of books lately and the kids find it funny to pick up my books and close them so lots of lost pages, so I thought it was about time I made myself a book mark, something big enough not to lose!!

I used *missed a bit* Magnum which is just a fab image and although I had a few problems colouring him in the right colours I managed it eventually!! The papers are Basic Grey Max and Whiskars. I added a die cut fence border which I inked and mounted on some more BG paper! I kept it all as flat as possible so as to not spoil my books and left off all embellishments! (I hate lumpy pages!)

Poodles parlour - Tea party!

Apologies for the delay, this should have been posted on friday but for some reason blogger didn't auto post or me!! couldnt get it to post using my phone & we were away for my sons birthday

Anyway its time for another Poodles parlour challenge, this fortnight the challenge is Tea party, we want to see your cards based on this theme!!

I used Holly Bakes for my card this week, paper piecing her little dress.

The papers I think are basic grey but I am not 100% sure as they were just in my loose piles of papers. I coloured her in using copics, added some seam binding and some diecut flowers.

My sons birthday ...

My son will be 9 this friday, now whilst he is lovely and adorable (I am sure he wont like me calling him that) he is also bloomin awkward and so hard to buy for, he loved lego and magnetix with the odd video game thrown in there but anything else and he just doesn't play with it. So needless to say we have more lego in this house than legoland!!

I wanted to create cards for him which were fairly grown up, as he is no longer little and whilst sometimes I could get away with a younger image I felt I should try and go for older images. I managed this for the first card, which I absolutely love how it has turned out.

Image - Mo manning, papers - MME, border - Dienamics die, sentiments - Rub ons.

Then for the 2nd card which is from my Dad and stepmum I wanted similar colours (his fav colour is red!) I used another Mo manning image but in hindsight it is possibly a little young.

Not 100% happy with this one, but I know he will like it!

No you are not seeing things, I mounted everything wonky, all of the matting and also when I popped it on the card blank, I think it gives it a different look and I like that bit!

Then last but not least, I started making a card for Maddison to give to her brother, but she then told me I wasn't allowed cause she wanted to make him a monster card (apparently because he is a monster!) So I printed out Fluffy from pollycraft and used him as a template. She did everything apart from cutting around the image and just adding a few lines to him. She used punched out bits of first edition papers and had so much fun! I am so proud of her! she added some liquid pearl stuff to his tummy, horns, and then painted his nails!!! lol

Totally Ladybug Tuesday ~ Flowers ~ Michele Style!

Time for another Totally Ladybug Tuesday!!! But before I start what did you think to the Wrinkleys? I love them and the ladybugs rocked!!

This week it was Michele's turn to choose the challenge and she chose Flowers!! We want to see flowers on your project, either on the image, the paper, embellishment, or ones you have made yourself!

I decided to try something new, I saw this FAB milk carton Pami made last week and I had to give it a try, I have had a template for a couple of years but never tried it, so I dusted off the printer and gave it a whirl!!

The milk carton is quite small in size as you can see from the picture so I decided to use the Magnum Add ons which you can get here. I inked up Lily and added a paper pieced balloon which I finished with crackle accents. I made my own flowers using a Dienamics rolled rose die and the leaf is cut from a magnolia die. I filled it with Jellybeans and it will be given to my son on his birthday on Friday!

Ease Drawer Card - Class with Bev

On saturday I attended another class with Bev Rochester at my local craft shop Papercuts. The class was for a easel drawer card. I have finally got it finished after I had a bit of a disaster with one of my copics!

Hope you like it!

This kind of project fills me with dread, making sure everything is the right size and scored at the right point, but I found it really easy in the end! The class was a success, There is a lady who goes to the classes and she is so lovely, her name is Doris and this time round we kept getting into trouble and Bev threatened to seperate us! had a fab time!

A few quickies! & some news!!

Needed to top up the box of cards, so I made a few quick cards using some smaller card blanks. Kept them all clean and simple. Unfortunately when I was blog hopping last night I came across my lovely friend Sarah's blog and noticed she had made some on monday and my cards look very similar to hers, I emailed her in a panic last night but she has told me to blog them and that they are not the same lol ... Phew!

And I also had some fab news yesterday, The owners Jo-Ann and Shirley at my local craft shop Papercuts got in touch and offered me a DT position!! Needless to say I accepted and can't wait to join in the fun!! I will be making up samples to promote items in the shop. I am chuffed!

With the holiday over, the kiddies are back to school. My big boy started year 4 yesterday, and my little big girl had an hours induction, she absolutely loved it and wants to go back today, but she has to stay home with me until next tues when she will do 2 1/2 days and then start full term on thurs!!

Now before I go any further, I forgot to mention some really sad news :( lovely Ladybug Anita is leaving us :( I threatened to stamp my feet and spit out my dummy but she is still leaving :( I wish her all the best in her future! We will miss you Anita! xxx

so now its time to start the craft ball rolling, this card is for my Dads birthday. It took hours to make it as I couldn't get the copics to blend properly, so turned to my trusty prismas and that helped! I went all out with this card and Copied Mary J by decorating the inside, all in all I am happy with the card, think I prefer the inside to the out LOL whoops!

Now onto my card, I used "Ain't getting old a Bitch"

I had fun with this image, I knew I wanted a bright card and found the brightest papers that worked which are from October Afternoon, I paper pieced her trousers which I think just look FAB! I stamped the sentiment directly onto the card and added a couple of flowers.

Now you all know Kerry has been having a big sale ... well I couldn't resist and rehomed a few new LCI stamps just for me .... but I was also cheeky and asked her to post me another Wrinkly in with my order so I could make a card for my dads birthday .... However I am going to post this tomorrow but here is a preview!

Busy busy busy! Does it ever end! I finally completed the mountain of holiday washing and I have some fab news, some of you will know already!! ...

First things first!

Kerry has finally lost the plot and is having a mega sale on stamps!! Every single stamp is half price!!! but whilst the sale went live at 9am, it finishes at midnight sunday so hurry hurry!!

Did you miss me?? No? thought not! whilst you were all crafting hard I have been sunning myself in Ibiza for the last 2 weeks!! we had a fab time and feel all relaxed! although the holiday blues haven't set in yet!!

Just wanted to share a quick card I made before we went away (when I should have been packing) I used Dancin Mae from Some Odd Girl although this time with normal coloured hair!

The papers are from Echo Park, which are part of their 1 dollar digi wednesday kits, they print so lovely! the flourish is a magnolia Die and the sentiment from craftwork cards!

Now whilst I have your attention I have some fabulous news ....

If like me you LOVE Ladybug Crafts Ink then you need to put a reminder in your diary!! My first ever Some Odd Girl!! ... and Blue hair?

Hey guys, not much time for crafting as we are getting ready to head off on our holidays, but as we had been out this morning and my son hasn't been well so we have had a relatively lazy afternoon with the kids being occupied with one thing or another so I finished off an image which some of you will have seen on Facebook.

The lovely Lou Mac challenged me to use my promakers and after seeing her fab colours in hair I had a play but started with my copics as I love these and wanted to compare.

Well here we go ...

LHS - Copics RHS - Promarkers

As you can see the results with both pens were very different, I found the copics blended so much better for me than the promarkers and I found the promarkers very blotchy in comparison!! also I had major issues with the hair! LOL and no I didnt slip and colour in my finger nail!

So after having another co with the promarkers on a different Some Odd Girl image, and using the same 3 promarkers, I then ended up with 2 different shades of hair colour!!! Not sure how that happened? the only difference I made was the girl was done light to dark, and the guy was done dark to light.

Picture quality is poor as I took it on my phone at silly o clock!!

So needless to say not liking the promarker images much I chucked them in the bin and finished colouring the copic version

I am totally loving the blue hair, some will think I have gone crazy but hey its nice to be different!! I even have a friend who had blue hair!! (Yes K I mean you!)

and the final card ...

Loving the fairly simple layout, I may have to add some more pearls as it looks a bit odd in the photo but looks great in real life!

The sentiments were a pressie from a friend and are PTI, the papers are MME and the image is Some Odd Girl. Hope you like it, and if you don't tough cause I love it and think I might end up making a few more! lol

I made up this little cake on Frdiay for a lady who has just had a baby boy. I love how the cake looks with the light blue of the blankets with the darker spotty ribbon.

I also made a card to go with the cake, I was lacking inspiration totally and had a look at a few blogs and remembered that Mary J makes the cutest baby cards. I totally stole her idea for a layout and inked up my lovely Baby Baby stamp set from Ladybug Crafts ink (which also happen to be part of the buy one get one half price sale)

The papers are from DCWV nursery boy stack and the sentiment is one of the fab ones included in the baby baby set!!

Morning all, hope you are all well and surviving the dreaded school holidays!! Anyway its Tuesday and after a long month we are back with another challenge, this time chosen by Kerry!

Favourite Stamp!

Yes nice and easy, we want to see you use your favourite stamp!! My favourite stamp of all time is Daydreaming Ruby, now I am not just saying this because I am on the DT but ever since I saw her last year when I was in hospital (magazine write up) I knew I had to have her, from then on I ended up as part of the Design Team for Kerry using all of the other wonderful ranges!!

I used my Go Kreate dies to make a shaped card blank, some papers which were a freebie from a magazine, and even my new magnolia die which Paul bought for me! I kept the card fairly simple and will add a sentiment when I come to use it.

The school holidays have arrived and I have been so busy! no time for crafting and only have one child for just over another week!! Today I managed to find some time to make a quick card, I say quick but I already had the image coloured in from the last few nights. I decided this year I would make up survival kits for the teachers, there were 6 in total as my daughter has 5 different teachers in nursery! I made a card for each, a survival kit for each and then an Angel keyring (first time I have ever made anything with beads) and the last I might add! I never took a photo of the survival kits as I ran out of time, but I did get one of the cards, and one of the angels!

Phew! Thank goodness they are all done! I struggled to find suitable baskets for the survival kits, so ended up with small bags filled with shredded paper and a tag. I also had little apple blackboard tags, I painted these with blackboard paint and then wrote names of the teachers on them.

The DT couldn't resist making another card, although I might have got slightly ok very confused and made a christmas card LOL whoops! But in my defence I couldnt resist buying the latest christmas release and had to ink one up!!

I made this last week, but never got round to taking photos. I decided to make an easel card using a LOTV Die cut, these are fab for quick cards, although this one seemed to take me ages but hey ho!

I added papers from First Edition, a sentiment from Craftwork cards and some ribbon from my stash! I made a little pull out tag for the inside, which isn't brilliantly clear from the photos but looks so much better in real life!

Poodles Parlour - Challenge 3 - Birds Eye View

Time for another Poodles Parlour challenge!

This week the challenge is Birds Eye View, which is anything to do with Birds, whether it is bird cages, or birdhouses and birds themselves!

I used an image which is part of the Two sweet birdhouses and after many problems fighting with my card stock which wouldnt blend, I printed it out on Kraft and coloured in pencils.

The papers are from two different Nitwit paper packs and the sentiment is craftwork cards.

Most of you will know I try and blog something everyday, sometimes I miss the weekends but normally every week day I blog ... however I haven't blogged since Tuesday, because I have been busy ... not not busy doing things like boring housework, but busy colouring in!!

And this is the card ...

I love everything about this card, I spent ages trying to colour in the image which originally started as a test just to make sure I could colour with the copics, pencils and sansador without the printer ink running. The image is a digi image of CC Designs.

I eventually added 2 flowers and a sentiment, but although it looked nice without any flowers or sentiments it looked a bit too plain!

May be back tomorrow with another card, I have 2 coloured and ready to go, but I might just sit and colour some more! hehe!

So onto my card, I have been very naughty and left it till the last minute, not realising how long it would take me to colour it in now I can do all the posh shading stuff! But I managed to get it done.

So ... very pleased with myself for the colouring (Am I boring you yet?) I feel all dead clever!

I used Shopping Ruby, coloured her with copics and prisma pencils. Ribbon is also from LCI which you can buy here, and the sentiment you can buy here.

The butterfly and scallop are MFT dies, and the papers are first edition!

I can do this proper grown up colouring and stuff ...

Evening all, some of you know I booked to go on a colouring class with Bev Rochester at my local craft shop, Papercuts Ltd. in Whitley Bay. Well what a fabulous day I have had, I am completely amazed at how I managed to colour in properly!! I have gone from pretending to being clever and doing my own style of shading (I like to call this being unique!) and then after todays class I feel very confident that I might just be able to carry this off to other stamps, until then however I did have a little spend on a Sarah Kay stamp.

So we used all Sarah Kay images, starting off with this one, which took us all morning to colour!

Now this is a cute image, but not my kind of image, I managed to screw up the boys boot, but rectifying that by using the blender pen, still a few bits to get rid of, but look I have a shadow around it and everything! yay!

Then after lunch, we used another image

I am very impressed with this one I absolutely love everything I managed to do, the jeans, the BLONDE hair!! (yes I only ever do brown hair cause I cant do blonde) and I love it!!

Then we moved on to another image ..

Now I thought I would struggle with this image, knowing the colours we were using, I never thought I could pull it off, but I reckon I managed it very well and love the finished image!!

Then last but not least is a work in progress ...

She is only part coloured as you can tell, but we ran out of time, I reckon I could easily have sat there another few hours and done some more as I was really enjoying myself, but all good things come to an end!

Big massive thanks for Bev Rochester, she told me off a couple of times for being heavy handed but really helped me, and a big thanks to Shirley and Jo Ann at Papercuts, they ordered in pencils, pens and put on a good spread for lunch!!

I went all out with this one, the sun shining brightly outside I decided to find the brightest papers I could and use them to complete an order I got through facebook!

The lady asked for a birthday card involving cars, monkeys and wanted his name on there, however the first stumbling block I came across was the image! but I found one!

I added stickles to the headlights to give them some sparkle, and used GA on the front and back bumper!

Normal Service Has Resumed!!

Well as normal as my life can be ... some of you will know the fight I am currently having over my less than 1 month old Grand Calibur being fixed/exchanged, but in the meantime I have had to keep things simple, no nesties or embossing for me!! However I did pop out today and buy a Big shot, after a frantic phone call to a friend (no answer) I panicked and turned to you tube!

Eventually I figured it out and produced this ...

So I am pleased to say, time to get cracking on the orders! lol

Now onto my card. I have used this Fab little Robin stamp called O Christmas Tree. I coloured her in with Copics, adding some glitter to baubles and snowman on her Jumper. I had big plans to use lots of diecut borders and nesties, but I currently have no die cutting machine and it could be a while before I have it back/give in and buy a new one! So I kept the layout fairly clean and simple twisting the layers slightly!

So thats my first christmas card of the year, loads more to make so I best get cracking!!

Poodles Parlour - Challenge 2 - Come Fly with me!

Time for our second challenge over at The Poodles Parlour. This week the challenge is

Come Fly With Me!

This could be anything from swings, planes, birds or something simple like Balloons!

For my card, I wanted to keep the card simple and small, so I used a 5x5 card blank instead of my usual 6x6, printed out my balloons from The Circus Accessories which you can buy here coloured them in with my copics and decoupages just the balloons. I stuck the bottoms flat and raised just the tops of the balloons to give it some depth. I used lots of glossy accents on them to give them some shine!

Having a nightmare with Blogger! I can read other peoples posts, but I cant leave comments, I have tried the whole signing out and unchecking business but it just wont let me!! I noticed some are having problems uploading photos, mine uploaded fine for me this morning!!

Anyway, onto todays cards, I dug out Kenny K's Need for speed, printed it at the size it came and coloured with copics! I had nearly finished the colouring on the top image when I set about printing another copy as I decided it would also look good in blue!!

So which do you prefer? Red or Blue? I love both! I turned the Pink petticoat striped paper so I had 2 nearly different cards!

Poor picture alert, I tried and failed to take many pictures of this card, it looks so much better in real life, there is wording on the card which is glittered up and says " U Rock"

It is a commisioned card for a 19 year old lad who is a DJ and currently out in Ibiza doing just that! I spent ages looking for a suitable image, and in the end a friend sent me a link to a colouring page!

Fathers Day gifts

Took the easy option for fathers day this year, and our 3 dads have gift vouchers! cheating maybe but I dont care lol but I did make an effort and made a little wallet or 3 to put the gift vouchers in!!

I used my nesties for the shape, embossed them with a cuttlebug folder, added a pouch and then a little flap of carr using eyelets on the front and secured with a glue dot on the back!

I love them all, and will definately make them again, however I did have a big disaster whilst embossing them ....

I broke my Grand Calibur, it is less than 2 months old and one of the teeth on the cogs has snapped!!! and it wasn't through any fault of my own. Got to send this one back and get a replacement again!! Grrr

Morning all, Time for another Totally Ladybug Tuesday!!

This week it is my turn to choose the challenge and I chose

Numbers!

Yes thats right I want to see numbers on your projects, whether it is on the paper, or the sentiment or even an age or anniversary card!!

I was very naughty this week and only made my card yesterday, I wanted to get it done before I went away but it never happened. Thanks for all the comments on *the* dress! haha!

Anyway onto my card. I inked up Add on Magnum and matched him with some BG Max and whiskars papers. I made the sentiment myself on the computer and punched it out with my word window punch! I added 2 small nail heads onto the sentiment then 3 bigger nailheads on the top and bottom corner. I love the look of these nailheads, and you can get them from LCI aswell!!

Posh Weekend away! June 2011

Hi all,

If you have no time, then don't read as this post is very pic heavy! haha!!

Paul whisked me away at the weekend to the Aphrodite Lodge, which is a little boutique (read that as posh!!) hotel in Bowness in the Lake district. I originally saw some of these rooms last year on a friends blog and I fell in love with them!! Well they certainly didn't dissapoint!

Paul booked us into the Swiss Alps room, (better pics on their site) which was absolutely stunning, I walked into rose petals in a heart shape on the bed, and a single red rose, Paul had arranged this without me knowing!! what a lovely suprise!

Saturday we took a trip to keswick, and wanted to see the cars and stars museum...

Which has all of these cars ...

Or so we thought, turns out that the cars have been relocated to Florida and the museum is now closed!! But not to worry there were plenty of other little shops mainly selling handcrafted items, so many beautiful things! We also found a Pencil factory ... but I Drew the line at going in there (see what I did there?)

On the friday night, we spotted a little shop which was one of those fish foot spa thingys, now anyone who knows me will know I would literally kill you if you touched my feet, they are so ticklish, so I jokingly said to Paul we should go there tomorrow (sat) he agreed and I thought he would forget ... no such luck! so after much walking about keswick and catching a ferry across the lake just for the experience we ended up here

Ok so £10 for 15 mins, took me 10 mins to get mine in there though, but I did it!!! .... and it might just have been alright and not too traumatic, infact the effects are amazing, Pauls feet were so horrible and hard and cracked, and they are so soft now, we will be doing this again very soon locally!!

Then we headed back to the hotel, got changed and went out for food in the evening ... I had packed my midlife crisis dress (those who don't know, I am so not girly and I definately dont *do* dresses, but bought this just before my birthday cause I liked it .... photographic evidence says I even wore it!! haha! I even have make up on!! and a new hair do .... 7 inches shorter than before! not a flattering picture at all but hey who cares, I am having a midlife crisis after all!!

So thats that... we travelled home on sunday, stopping for lunch just the 2 of us, and said we hoped Nana and Granda had enjoyed having the kids and that maybe it would be the start of more sleepovers!! .... when we picked up the children they were hyper and poor nana and Granda looked absolutely shattered! hahahaha!

Poodles Parlour - Challenge 1 - Anything goes!

It's Friday!!

Today sees our first even challenge over at The Poodles Parlour and this week we have a nice easy one for you!!

Anything goes.

I used a gorgeous little image called Princess Penelope and she is just a dream to colour!! I coloured her using copics and added some glamour dust to her robe and her crown.

I used papers from DCWV Spring Stack, added a punched scallop border and some little gems. Sentiment from CW cards and flowers from stash.
