Will I or won't I?

Well on Thursday morning at 11:30 I shall be heading down to theatre to have a mini operation (their words not mine!) in short I am having an injection in my spine to hopefully curb the pain that I have been in for the last year! OH made a comment about me taking a photo of all of my tablets, so this is mainly a reminder for me and how bad I am to see if this injection works!! .....

My 23 tablets a day, 7 days a week looks like this!!

Yes I do rattle when I walk, but I am hoping that come friday I won't need any of these!! so the question is will I still be on all these tablets? or will I not need them?

Answers on a postcard!

Awaiting the arrival of Jolly Sugar Socks!!

As per title, Santa has sent an elf to watch over our 2 children, make sure they are behaving etc ;)

So tonight I have literally just finished (yes at 12:12am!!) making Jolly Sugar Socks, bed, pillow and a diary for him to write things in.

What do you think?

Christmas lace tree!

Well OH bought this embossing folder for me when I first got my cuttlebug, I assured him that I would use it for alllll of my christmas cards, well tonight I set to it cause I was very concious I hadn't used it.

Plain and simple but it works well! I love it!!
I inked the lace tree and then stamped the sentiment onto it and added a couple of snowflakes. What do you think?

Few more christmas easels, and a valentines card!!

I had an hour spare this afternoon so grabbed the craft stash!! Oh was busy in the garage and my gran was playing with DD, DS was sat cutting out circles in my cuttlebug!! (making covers for our christmas choccys!)

So I set to making the other 4 christmas easel cards using dovecrafts metallic decoupage, then once I had finished them I was itching to do more, so I made a start on a valentines card using some forever friends decoupage.

Christmas Easel Cards.

Well these are so fab to make and so quick and easy aswell. I made this decoupage up last weekend so thought I should make an effort to make the cards up to put the decoupage on!!

Anyway not sure if they look ok or not as the papers are different shades to the decoupage but They will do for last minute cards!

Forever Friends decoupage!

Not sure why but just lately I really love the forever friends decoupage range!! Here are a couple more cards that I have just made, the gardening one is quite plain I feel but everytime I layed something on the paper it looked wrong!!
Any suggestions?

Apologies for the poor quality pictures, I am struggling with lack of light and the camera seems to do its own thing!!

All the CC's!!

Well just a quick easel card from me!! I needed some time out from my gran and the kids so I put all my craft boxes all over the floor in the dining room so none of them could get to me!! haha!

Anyway I realised as I was writing this that I have used all the C.C's, don't believe me? then read what I have used!!

Stamp - CC Designs
Paper - Cosmo Cricket nutmeg
Embelishment - Card Candy

What do you think?

My first easel card, well the first one which looks nice!

I made an easel card last night, but when I put it all together it looked rubbish, so I gave up and started again tonight! This is for my friends birthday next week, just need to find a suitable gift as she is quite hard to buy for!! ... hope she likes it!

Papers - Basic Grey Cupcake
Flowers & Gems - Prima E~line
Stamp - Lilly of the Valley

Late night crafting!!

Well as most of you know my Gran has come to stay for nearly 3 weeks! The children think it is fantastic! I am enjoying the adult company even if she does keep repeating herself 7000 times in a few minutes!! Tonight I sat my Gran infront of the tv and I sat and made a card, I am loving this card, it was soooo easy to make and I think it is perfect!! How many times do you say that about your own cards? those who know me will tell you I never say it!!

Finally have a penny black snowy stamp!!

I managed to fins a snowy stamp in the clearance bin at NEC.

I glittered the white bits on the snowman and used my big bite for the first time!! woohoo!! I also tried and failed to use my new sizzix alphabet, however it doesn't cut straight through the card and I had to use my knife to cut it out :( I was told it would work in a cuttlebug.

Childrens christmas decoupage!!

I picked up a lovely sheet of christmas Mickey and Friends decoupage from the NEC. I thought they would be perfect for my 2 childrens christmas cards!! Only when I started them today I realised there were 3 different sets on the one sheet!!

So my children will have a card each and then the 3rd card will be put away for my friend Jane's (bunbun) boys Luke and Oliver! hope they like it!!

I used my dovecraft snowflake punch for the snowflakes in the corner, then added a small spot of stickles to each centre! and embossed the card blanks on the top with my cuttlebug! I think they are lovely which is strange for me as I am never happy with anything I make!!

Some crafting from me!!

About time I did some more crafting and I had the perfect opportunity tonight!!

I started to make some coasters whilst visiting my lovely friend Jane! I didn't get to finish them but have rectified that tonight. I still have 7 more to make but that will have to wait until next week as I am all crafted out and very tired! I used wild asparagus and bloom and grow papers on these.

I am preparing myself for OH passing his motorbike test (he has previously done his module 1 so just the biggy to go!) He is doing very very well and I am so proud of him! so anyway this is his congrats card for when he passes his test! I used jolly nation decoupage and really enjoyed doing this!!

Then last but not least these cards are for Harry and Jack. Their lovely mum Caroline (CT19720) posted me a card for the children for halloween so I thought I would return the favour. These are cards for them! I used Lilli of the valley monster pack which has been in my stash for ages.

Craftyplace monthly swap: Friendship

The challenge set by the lovely Rainmac this month was to create a friendship card. The idea being that we sent our card to someone and then recieved a card from someone different. This is my card for Caroline, hope she likes it. I used a Smirk stamp, some card candy and then inside I even stamped another image direct to the card!!

Craftyplace Alter a container challenge: Haloween!

Well as you know I organise a monthly alter a container challenge on craftyplace. This month I chose haloween as the theme. I did these bags a few weeks ago but never blogged them as I needed to use a friends cropodile to add some ribbon handles. They are for my children for haloween!
I have taken 2 pictures to show just how much I managed to cram in the bags ;)

GreenPixey is just the best!

I saw the beautiful creations that the lovely GreenPixey makes and just had to order a couple of little keyrings for my 2 childrens stockings. I plan to attatch these to the zips on their coats so they will always be with them and I just know they will both love them!!
The Red one is for DS and the pink is for DD. I shall be shopping with her again soon for something for my mums birthday!

Thankyou GreenPixey.

You can see more of GreenPixeys beautiful creations HERE

Heres a little pot of gold .... well 5 actually!

I am feeling super organised today, I managed to finish off another 3 pots of gold and wrap all 5!!

2 x SIL have gold coins, scratchcard, werthers and a £10 next gift voucher in there
1 x BIL has gold coins, scratchcard, werthers (he has a different pressie aswell hence no voucher)
1 x OH has pot full of ferrero rocher (he loves these and he is worth it!) and a scratchcard
1 x DS teacher 2 x scratchcards, gold coins, werthers and a large gold quality street will probably make her a teachers survival kit to go with it!!

Thats another 4 people to cross off the pressies list ;)

Finally a swing card!!

I must say that I was hating this challenge from the start, but I thought I would sign up purely to give myself a challenge!!

This is my swap card (all be it very late!! sorry Jennie!) for the craftyplace challenge last month!!

Not particularly happy with it, not sure why? probably as my memento ink pad and me do NOT get on well!!!

My first card in 2-3 weeks!

As most of you know we have been a house full of stressheads and poorlys over these last couple of weeks! Hopefully that is starting to change!
A friend of OH's has been an absolute diamond! He has picked OH up from the train station on a Friday night, and he even lent us his lovely spangly Range Rover (the kind where the needle on the speedo goes up and the fuel needle goes down just as fast!) But hey it gave us wheels to get things done which was much needed!!
OH is out with him at the moment, being chauffered to pick his car up from the garage! so I took the time to make a little thankyou card for him and his wife! Without them we really would have struggled, this card paired with a bottle of wine will do nicely me thinks!

I did this card slightly different, as I didn't want to use a backing paper, but also wanted to try the new E-line range of flowers and Gems! Apologies for the picture quality it is a tad naff!

Stamp: Inkadinkadoo Thankyou
Flower & Gems : E-Line by Prima
Gem: Quixotic Paperie
Ribbon : From stash
Paper Ribbon: K&Co
Colouring: Fabulour Promarkers (what else??)

Yummy Tilda stamps on ebay!

Well I have finally bitten the bullet and started to get rid of some stash, seems pointless keeping it all when I don't use it!!

I bought the lovely yummy tummy stamps ages ago and have never physically used them on a card of my own, the only time I have used them was to stamp some images for the girls off MSE!! Seems a complete waste of money so now time to recoup some of them!!

I also have some more magnolias to list, along with some sugar nellies and other bits and pieces!!

If you fancy a nosey then CLICK ME!

Jar of Jelly beans!

Pressy for my OH. We have had the jar for ages and was stuck at the back of the cupboard! I used 3 tubes of gourmet jelly beans and emptied them out! Then decorated with some ribbon. I also cut some of the tube up so that he knows what flavours he is eating!! Think I will add just one more tube then it will be jam packed full!!

Pots of gold!

Pressies for my 2 sister in laws! If it was left to OH they would get a creased £10 note stuck inside a card (thats if he remembered to buy a card!)so I decided to do something a bit different for them!

I used:
Yellow glass bowls from ikea (99p each)
1 X Bag of werthers originals (99p but split in half for each pot)
1 x bag of gold choccy coins (99p BOGOF Sainsburys)
1 x Gold Next £10 voucher (sainsburys have a few different gift cards in gold!)
1 x Gold scratch card!

Decoupage Christmas cards!

Having tried my hand at decoupage for the first time the other day I decided to get some of the forever friends christmas decoupage! I assembled them yesterday and then today finished them off by putting them on cards!!
Hope you like them! I wasn't sure about the blue, but then I realised that was pretty much all I had christmas paper stash wise. The papers were from the lovely Rainmac!

Sunday, 27 September 2009

A couple of cards made today.

Decided rather than having a quick nap on the settee this afternoon I would be active and craft instead! Just a couple of cards. The blue one with the hedgehog really doesn't work aswell as the pink one I did last week! but hey ho we live and learn and you don't know if you don't try!

The Purple card is my favourite, a big thankyou to Tricia (Craftygranny) for sending me the beautiful manga girls!

scrap paper challenge & another christmassy card!

The challenge for this week on MSE is to use scrap paper.
So after crafting yesterday to make an ATC for Jane, and then some cards tonight I had some left over again which were perfect!

The deep pink backing paper is actually an envelope which I cut up by accident and just shoved it back in my stash, so perfect for this challenge. I then used some offcut of mirror card and used my scallop nesties to make it pretty. Then I trimmed a stamped image I recieved (from Gemm? I think?) which was coloured in my promarkers. The pink stripy paper was an offcut from one of my cards earlier on this evening (see post below!) I used my martha stewart punch to shape it.

Hope this is ok for the challenge.

Then I had a quick play with a pre printed christmas card from the lovely Nikki. I used a stamped image from my visit to see Jane this afternoon and then a silver peel off (I now remember why I hate peel offs!!!)

Tatty Ted!

Just a couple of quick makes using smoe tatty ted stamped images I got from ebay! I have since learnt that taddy ted was never released as a stamp due to copyright. I had this argument with the seller and she claims that they were not printed images and were indeed stamps. I ended up leaving her negative feedback and I am not daft these are infact printed images not stamped images so please do not buy them as you will be ripped off like I was (something I am normally very very cautious and careful about!)

Hope you like them !

The papers on the flower one are forever friends, this is a get well soon card for my gran who is currently in hospital at the minute!

The paper on the christmas one is part of a lovely huge stash that Sarah (Rainmac) sent to me!!

Happy Birthday Thomas ....

7 years ago at 6:34am after a horrible scary 72 hours of labour I was greeted by the most gorgeous little boy in the world, and he was all mine!! ... The years have flown, through difficult and easy times and we are still as strong as ever!!

Happy Birthday so my gorgeous little man!! Hope you have a fantastic day. I love you so much xxxx

My sons 7th birthday card!

I have ummed and arrhed about buying a card for my little man who will be 7 on wednesday. Anyway the lovely craftygranny sent me an email with some images and things of Ben 10. The card I wanted to make (which I made in my mind) didn't work, but I kept on going and came up with this.
What do you think?? should I still go out tomorrow and buy him a ben 10 card instead?

Thomas's cards for Grandad in Heaven!

Thomas asked if he could make some christmas cards with me this morning so I let him loose with the craft stash. He has used smirk christmas stamps, some mirror card and the bells along the bottom are a dovecraft stamp. He then proudly announced that they were both cards for Grandad in heaven, and that we have to send them to him. When I said we couldn't post them, he told me it was alright he would save his pocket money and buy some balloons which he will blow up and then Grandad will get his christmas cards!! I had a good old cry when he said this!! bless him!

Christmas cards for troops challenge.

Marg very kindly extended the challenge by another week so I have managed to make a couple more cards for the challenge. I think this is 6 now that I have made for the challenge.

Bit of cheekyness!

One of the men who comes in the club on a saturday night when I work owns quite a few of the places in our local town. Anyway when I realised he owned the florist I decided to be cheeky and ask him if he would consider stocking my cakes. He has asked me to take some down and leave them there for him then he will have a word with the ladies who work there but he said he doesn't see it being a problem!!

I started off using a ellie on the blue cake, but then changed it to a new baby bear.

First day in Year 2!

So my big bloy went back to school today in year 2! he was so excited to go back to school bless him. Maddison just had to be in on the shots!!

Notepad

Just a quick make tonight. Not really had a lot of time this weekend or energy for that matter. Still in quite a lot of pain from the crash last week so hoping that I can get better soon so I can get back to crafting.

New blog layout and my lovely stash from Sarah!

The postman dropped a lovely big parcel for me yesterday! It was my prize stash for winning the trifold card swap challenge over on craftyplace. What a lucky lady I am to recieve so much lovely stuff! Maddison has already tried to steal the coaster for herself!!! not a chance! Thankyou ever so much Sarah, it is all so beautiful!

OH helped me change the layout on my blog, or rather he did it all for me whilst I was out picking up my courtesy car!! I love it!!

A reason to stay in on a rainy day!

I didn't want to go out today, its wet and blustery but I had to!! ... wish I hadn't bothered now. A lovely bloke in a silver mondeo thought it was ok to pull out infront of me. Needless to say I had to walk home in the rain with Maddison as I am too shook up to drive, I have abandoned my car in a rough area and now live in hope that I can get one of my neighbours to go collect it for me as I dont want DD in the car til I have got back in on my own and driven it.

I am not a happy bunny :( and my poor car looks like it has been shot!! .... (mine is the green one, not a

lot of damage. Luckily more on his which serves him right!!

Think it will T cut out? haha!

Beer mat calender! another one!

Just another quick make whilst I decided on what to make next! I have been a very busy crafty bunny tonight!!

MSE Cards for troops challenge.

The challenge set by the lovely Marg over on MSE was cards for troops. The idea is that we send our cards over to the troops for them to send home to their family! There was no limit on how many cards we could make so I have made a start tonight. I have made 2 using my images from ebay that arrived today. I really like these cards. I even used glitter although you may not be able to see it properly!

September ATC challenge on Craftyplace

The lovely Debbie set the challenge for this month over on Craftyplace so I decided I would have a quick play with a stamp I bought a few months ago and never used!.

I am sending this one to a very special little girl called Kaitlyn. Hopefully her Gran won't let her see this until she recieves it, if she does see it then at least she will know what is coming :)

I used Poppy, Pine, cocoa coloured promarkers. I then used a metallic silver promarker on the sleigh and white glitter on the pompom and fluffy bits on the santa hats! Hope she likes it.

Tuesday, 1 September 2009

Beer mat calenders!

The lovely Rainmac over on MSE showed a lovely idea using the small calenders which you can pick up. Something cheap and chearful for the family in addition to a small gift from the kids. So today I made a start! Just the 2 for now. They are not completely finished as I need to find a way of attatching the magnet on the back of them securely. Any ideas??
I used Basic Grey papers on both of them.

Well known in Wilkos!

I nipped into the next town with DD today, popped into Wilkos and got a few bits, I asked if they had any of the clear snag bands that I use for my nappy cakes knowing that I couldn't get any in my local store as they are currently being on order for me. She said no but called my local store to check if they had come in. Anyway to cut a long story short, I did what I had to do in there and left the shop, only to be stopped a few shops down by a young lass from Wilkos asking me to go back in! My heart was beating so fast as I panicked that DD had picked up something and I hadn't noticed and left the store with it ... turns out it was the lady from my local store calling the store I was in to order a nappy cake from me as she had lost my mobile number lol. I am well known in my local wilkos as the nappy cake lady!! I guess I should be flattered!

Anyway here is the cake for the lady who called me today. She wanted a cheap but cute 2 tier cake.

If I do say so myself ... a couple of quick and simple makes from me!

Pretty new Magnolia stamps cooking up a treat!

Wow I love my postman (don't tell OH lol) he dropped these beauties through my door today!!

They are the new stamps from Magnolia stamp club! I am sooo chuffed with them and can't wait to get cracking or should that say stamping?

Lots of lovely suprises!

Well I have had an absolutely manic week with my little princess being very poorly with HFM disease!! she is on the mend now thank god, and we always have our little prince home from his holidays in Bulgaria!
I recieved a lovely card and wallet from the beautiful Rainmac, this was a *pressie to cheer me up* and to let me know she was thinking of me when I was supposed to be having an MRI scan on Monday (problems led to me going to the hospital but not having it done!!)

The one (yes one!) of my swap partners sent me a lovely trifold card. She also sent me some lovely papers and some cards. Thankyou Mrs Tidge

Then my other (yes I had more!!) lovely swap partner sent me this lovely card! Thankyou craftygranny.

From Kaitlyn

Lovely Kaitlyn sent up a couple of her fabulous cards that she had made for my children Thomas and Maddison.

Maddison absolutely loves hers and I had to prise it out of her hands to put her down for a nap!!

Thomas is away on holiday in Bulgaria visiting my dad and step mum so hasn't seen his yet but I just had to take a photo!

Thankyou Kaitlyn. Maddison will be making you a little something today, and Thomas when he comes home. xx

A few more.

I made a couple more cards yesterday so thought I ought to put them on :)

My mojo has came home!

After weeks of looking at pretty craft stuff and being the big GREEN eyed monster at everyones beautiful cards, my MOJO came home!! woohoo! I have so far made a 3 tier nappy cake (pics to follow later) and then I decided to get stuck in!! ... I needed a practice run to see if I was still capable of making cards, and I also needed a practice run of a trifold card ... so what better opportunity to combine the both!!

This weeks challenge over on MSE was christmas! I couldn't make a firm decision on what to do after I screwed up my lace tree card!! so I made 2 both are completely different to each other. Not sure which to use in the challenge so can I enter them both please?

Feeling fruity!

I decided after a non crafting day yesterday I really should try and make the effort. So I set to with my new stamped images from ebay.

A couple of basic cards.

I wanted a couple of basic cards for those just incase I forget occasions, so I got out the nesties and the basic grey papers!

This first one is using my labels two nestabilities, and I used Basic Grey lime rickey papers with a small die cut greeting on the front and some card candy.

This next one I used my scallop octagon nestabilities, Basic Grey marrakech papers, a prima flower and some card candy. Again I added a die cut greeting.

Hope you like them :)

New nesties!

Had a quick play with my new nesties OH bought for me (secretive but lovely he is)

My silver ink pad has officially given up!! so I had to use black, its not a very good pic but the ink does actually stand out really well in black.

Has a bit of a play again last night ... came up with a purple card, I used my new dreamy tilda stamp and did a bit of embossing :)

Alter a container challenge - Craftyplace.

I was allowed to set a challenge with a twist this month on craftyplace. I decided to do a alter a container challenge, we have had some fab entries so far and no doubt more to follow.

Hope you like it.

If you would like to join in with this challenge then please hop it over to Craftyplace and say hello.

And the finished product!

Christmas card challenge disaster!!!

I wanted to post this just for a laugh more than anything ... I tried to be clever and it backfired badly! I used my cuttlebug lace tree folder then tried to heat emboss the embossing if that makes sense ... anyway its rubbish! lol ... Which means I need to buy a pennyblack stamp to make a card for this challenge and I hold the person who has set the challenge completely responsible for my spending habits ;)

Heat embossed tilda

Another card from me, this time for my step mum.

I have heat embossed the wings in silver and the rose in red, you can just about make it out. I used my bloom dots folder to emboss the card down the side. and the stamped image is tilda with rose.

After a tough couple of days .....

I have had a tough couple of days, I am in so much pain I spend most of the day in tear or screaming, my poor little girl doesn't understand why and she is probably scared half to death. We had to have our pussycat Boot put to sleep yesterday aswell so everyone is very upset, especially OH who is up in Aberdeen :(

I had to get on with my crafting even though I couldn't be bothered ..... turns out I am glad I did as I have made a card after 1 full week without any crafting!!

This is for my Aunts birthday :)

I embossed the backing paper with a perfect paisley folder for my cuttlebug then used my new forever friends stamp. I heat embossed the present which you can just about make out in the second picture and added a couple of prima flowers.

MSE Fantasy challenge

The lovely Melissa set the challenge of Fantasy.
I struggled with this challenge as I don't have pretty papers which would work for this challenge, so this is my measly attempt! Sorry Melissa I promise to try harder next time :)

Pink!

I wanted to make a pink card (although why as I am not a pink person!) so set about it this morning whilst the little one was playing.

Papers: Basic Grey sultry
Stamp: Tilda holding bear

Spotty Dotty

Another card from me, not much to say about this one as I kept it nice and simple but I like it :)

2 fathers day cards and a Good luck card

Time is fast running away from me, most of you know my OH applied for a job, recieved an interview over the phone and was accepted for the job within a few house which is absolutely fantastic news, however he starts in just under 2 days and we have been rushing round trying to get everything ready! In all of the panic I hadn't made fathers day cards from our children, so that was this mornings task whilst he was out trying to sort more bits out. I also made a good luck card for him aswell :)
Fathers Day card from Maddison-Mae

Fathers Day card from Thomas

Good luck card from me
I used my yellow and lime pocket card as a good luck card from the children, I know I said I didn't think I could use it but OH know how much hard work and effort I put into that card and also how much I love that card so for him to recieve it I know he would love it :)

Flower - Prima
Stamp - Inkadinkado (from ebay in USA) worth every penny and more!

Second card
Papers - Basic Grey Lime Rickey
Cardstock - Scallop edged from Flourgirl (although I think she gets hers from craftwork cards?)

Perfection doesn't stop here

Well after trying the pocket card earlier and OH liking it, he asked me to make something similar for FIL for fathers day, so I set away this evening and I absolutely love this one aswell!!

Papers: Basic Grey Archaic
Stamp - Inkadinkado
cardstock - trifold out of stash

What do you think?

Basic Grey pocket card.

Wow I loved making this card, everything just seemed to go perfectly together, I think you will be seeing plenty more of these from me! However I did screw it up. ... I for some reason thought I needed to make 2 tags for the inside which I did ... but now when I look at others it should have only been one!! Still nothing like being original oh and I didn't even use instructions!
Papers - Basic Grey Lime Rickey
Flower - Kindly given by crafty granny
Cardstock - Trifold card from stash!
Stamp - Clear stamp from Inkadinkado

Verdict is .... I LOVE IT!! I think I will have to keep this card :D

Some pics I had to share!

Evening ladies, well we have had a busy weekend, Saturday we managed to sort out quite a lot of things and finish sorting out DS's bedroom so he can actually get in there to play and have some space for a change! Anyway we figured that as we were so busy we would take the children out for the day on sunday ....

This is where I need to say a massive thankyou for Rainmac for her help with the tesco clubcard deals which until she explained I never understood. Anyway on with the story ....

We went to Beamish Wild and had a brilliant day, the cost of the day should have been £20 but with the clubcard deals it cost £5. I just wanted to share a couple of pictures of the amazing experience, I had a barn owl land on my hand, this was after it had finished trying to land on OH's lens on his camera. Anyway enough talking and time to share a couple of pictures!
Enjoy xx

Vine Girls christening cakes

We were invited to a christening a couple of weeks ago, I struggled to think of something different to the usual silverware that people normally buy for the children.
I made Ellie (15 weeks?) a nappy cake with essentials
I made Robyn (aged 3) a bright and funky towel cake with clothes hidden inside the towel, a plant pot, a sunflower kit, a wirly windmill, a new big girls cup, a chalkboard stick and some stickers to decorate her plantpot with oh and some gardening gloves.
I made High School Musical mad Abbie the same as her sister but managed to get a HSM cup, stickers and HSM towel :)

Needless to say both Mummy and Daddy were over the moon with their gifts, and I also recieved a nappy cake order from someone at the christening :D

MSE Sketch challenge

The lovely Flourgirl over at MSE gacve us a fab sketch for this weeks challenge, I figured as I missed out on the last one (apologies Rainmac) then I should pull my finger out!

Creative Card Crew Challenge 11 - Shape It!

Front.
Back

Here is my entry for the CCC challenge, I used the idea from a link someone posted up on MSE. However I didn't use the template I hand drew the shape then cut it out. I have poated pics of both the front and back (excuse the quality of the pics) I used my new lime rickey papers (basic grey) and card candy (I love this stuff!)

Hope you like it!

Another card from Thomas

Just a quick one from me today, my little boy Thomas wanted to make a card for his teacher so we set to and came up with this.

Creative Card Crews Minimal challenge

This card is very special to me, Tonight my little boy Thomas who is only 6 asked if he could make a little card with me, however he then decided he wanted to try and do it all himself.
He has made this card himself and proudly asked if he could enter it into a competition. I figured the CCC minimal challenge was as good as any. The card is infact very small in size (minimal size) then we have a stamp from the flirt range which he has coloured in with his crayons and then 3 bits of card candy, the papers are actually from papermanias christmas range naughty and nice but he wanted fab and funky! He made this card with MINIMAL help from me, I only helped with the DST and a tiny amount of help with the stamping!
I am so very proud of him tonight! Well done Thomas xxxx

Pretty blog award - Thankyou Cindersmcphee!

A big thankyou to Cindersmcphee for my second blog award!

I now need to pass it onto 5 other people who have blogs that I follow. So I would like to pass it onto.

Funky papers

My OH found me some funky papers, I think they are supposed to be for digital scrapbooking but they look fab when printed out. Had to have a quick play ;)

High School Musical

It was out friends little girls birthday yesterday, Apparently she is mad on Disney princess and also HSM so thought I would try and make a HSM card. I was in quite a rush so nowhere near as good as it could have been but still ok.

Using my new stamp and my new papers (masculine) and the pink sheet was basic grey which Melissa75 very kindly sent to me. I also used my new card candy, and some card blanks which craftygranny kindly send me, so all in all everything was new and I thought I would produce 2 new cards ;)

Getting my mojo back

After speaking to the lovely Oona on msn the other night she was trying to help me get my mojo back by setting me a challenge to make up a card. The rules were mainly black and white but with some red. I have to say I think it worked! so massive thankyou'r to Oona from lalaloolooland. :) Here is my challenge to get my mojo back card.

Nappy cakes

Just wanted to share a couple more nappy cakes. The picture quality isn't fab, the ribbon on the blue one looks black when it is infact deep navy blue, and it also looks wonky in the picture but I promise it really isn't.These have been made up for my new stockist in Durham.
We're still battling with the website! Although I do also have a new company logo which is fab! I am just trying to get the website finished. If you want to check it out then please go to

Gorjuss girls

A little card I have made this morning (I am seriously lacking inspiration today so may have to convert back to nappy cake making and get some orders out!)
I used a gorjuss girls stamped image which Hamish off MSE sent to me (thankyou) some papers which I already had in my stash, and the stamp is one of the free ones which came with the do crafts magazine.

Cowboy theme ... Yeehaa!

Decided to have a play this evening mainly to see if I could do what I wanted to do, and yes I could, although not brilliant but it is ok :)

A big thankyou to Trisha

I can't say too much about the reasons as it would spoil a suprise for someone who will read this blog. However Trisha, aka CraftyGranny sent me a little note saying to expect a parcel as a thankyou for doing something.... My parcel arrived today and I feel completely overwhelmed at the kindness of this lady! A whole parcel full of crafty goodies, from gems, to ribbons, to flowers, to 12x12 papers! WOW! I feel like I have won the lottery!

So I wanted to say a big massive public thankyou to this very kind lady! you have made my day and my week! you are very kind and very lovely! Thankyou! xxxx
and here is a pic, I am afraid I struggled to get everything in the picture so it is all piled up!

Another one to add to the collection

Another quick and easy make, although last one for tonight, I hope to get a couple more done tomorrow, depends if I can sneak out and buy some more papers whilst OH is out.

Again used Basic Grey Archaic papers (both trimmed down 12x12 sheets) and then some stickers which again I had meant to use ages ago! (least OH can't say i'm not using up old stock)

MSE Green card challenge

The lovely Rainmac has set this weeks challenge on MSE. She has set a Green challenge!

Here is my card for the challenge.

I used Basig Grey Archaic paper (originally a 12x12 sheet I bought in the sale and cut down to size) and then used some rub ons which I have had for ages and always meant to use them but never did.

Hope you like it

Card for Mum

Decided against following a sketch, just wanted to have a little play.

The stamped image I cheated, I printed off one from google then coloured it in with my sons pencil crayons (yes I know I should be using pens but I didn't want the expense of something I may not be able to get on with!)
The papers were kindly given to me by a lady called Melissa (only just started to use them! Thankyou!) the flowers arrived safely this morning and the brad I already had. First time I have ever used scallop cards, brads and stamped images, so a completely new card from me today :)

Girlys birthday card

My Princess turns 2 in 29 days ! ! ! ! so I thought I would try and make a birthday card for her, knowing exactly who and what she likes. Quite a plain card, I am not 100% happy with it but she will love it and my OH says it looks really good which is a better comment that the normal grunts!
I tried to take it without the flash but you couldn't tell that I had used glitter card so turned the flash back on. Tigger and Pooh are not actually that pale, they are very bright and vivid it is just the flash being on for the glitter which makes them look pale!

New craft stash ....

Just thought I would try and force myself to use my new pretty stash which I picked up today. I figured that if I posted a picture on my blog I may come up with some random inspiration!

My order from Craft warehouse

My bargain pretty brads from ebay

My goodies from a do craft stockist locally (I could have spent soooo much more!)

Creative Card Crew challenge card ... or not!

Well the plan was to make up a card for the Creative Card Crew challenge, however now I have done one for this I have decided not to enter it, My cards are sooo not upto scratch with all of the other beautiful cards, I am afraid to say card making is definately not my strong point ... however give me a pile of nappies and tell me to make something then I can do that blindfolded!

Anyway I tried .... and failed!!

Note to self: must practise more and try harder (sounds like a school report!)

Cupcake box!

Finally after much effort to get my OH to make various templates, I managed to find a template for a box, I actually had this emailed to me from a lady who stamps pictures and then makes them into boxes, mine are far from perfect (More practise needed) but they actually work!!!
It is just plain for now, but I reckon with some decoration or pretty paper it will be perfect!

New cakes :)

2 orders last week for nappy cakes, one for a lady at my Mums work and the other was from my sister who wanted something small but nice for her friend.

The meaning of life ....

No matter how much crap life throws at us, we somehow manage to cope, and hide things from those who mean the most to us, a lot of my blog followers know a fair amount about me, the nasty horrible court case that I am going through, trying to survive on £23.72 a week for our family of 4 and the general rubbish life throws at us all from time to time ... one day I will have some luck, I have been through horrible nasty times, I have had good times, and I have had times when I am fighting hard against the edge so as to not fall .... now is one of those edge times.

Through hard times I only have to look at 2 little people and they help me enormously. My 2 beautiful children. When everything else has gone ... including the bricks and mortar I will always still have the love, smiles and happiness from my beautiful angels that I have been blessed with.....

Easter Bonnet Competition!

With easter just around the corner my son's school has set a challenge for an easter bonnet competition! So my son (6) and I set to with our mission. Mission complete in 3 days and here is the finished product!

He was proud as punch this morning when he went into school wearing his hat :D A total cost of £3 for a couple of plant pots, a rabbit and duck teddy and then we just used stuff we already had to finish it off. the seeds around the bottom are mustard seeds which he enjoyed sprinkling on!
He is hoping he wins again this year!

Credit crunch card theme

The Ladies on MSE have set this weeks challenge for a credit crunch card. The idea is to see if you can make a lovely card with little expense being involved then work out your costs. I have enjoyed this challenge because it was one I could actually get into for a change where as I sometimes miss the challenges as I feel my cards are rubbish in comparison to the ladies on the thread.
Card costs: Approx 3p for the card (I cheated as I will use it for FIL's birthday as I am doing him a gardening hamper.) card - approx 1p (from huge pack at bargain price!) Ink from printer - approx 2p Patterned paper (flowers etc) free with magazine I got for mothers day. I printed all the solid colours then cut them out in the right shapes. We have a continuous ink supply so it makes things like that unbelievably cheap!

New Nappy Cakes

A few more to add to the collection. Some cheaper cakes for those on a tight budget. Also some easter ones :) The website is still in the process of being made, we have a few things on there but not everything! www.tiers-for-rears.co.uk

Signature making

I've been having a play in a programme called paint.NET and managed with the help of my OH to make a signature for my blog. It automatically signs each and every post for me. What do you think?

We have one of the massive whisky bottles to keep loose change in, then when it is near full we bag it up and take it to the bank, so I gave Maddison some loose change and gave her the bottle so she could put them in ... she decided after she had done this that she would try and drink out of the bottle which is almost as big as she is!

Do something funny for money ... Comic relief 09

Thomas's school were doing a fundraiser to raise money for comic relief. The slogan this year was "Do something funny for money" So we bought him a red nose, dressed him in red clothes and sent him to school with pennies for the school. They were asked permission to be filmed telling jokes, Thomas was in his element and was so proud when he told the joke about numbers. (see below)

Joke: Why was 6 scared of 7?
Answer: Because 7, 8 (ate) 9

Bless his cotton socks!

Flowerpot men ...

Well the spring is finally here, the weather is starting to warm up and I have been trying to work miracles in our garden (fat chance!) Maddison has had a fantastic time exploring the garden now she has got over her fear of walking on the stones! She had both myself and her daddy in fits of laughter when she shouted us and we saw this ...

Finishing mothers day...

Well I haven't had the chance to catch up on here for a little while, so thought I should make an effort.
Here are a couple more frames I have done for mothers day, and also handmade cards. Hope you like them :)

Weeding .....

Thought I would be extra good this afternoon and de weed the patio in the garden which was well needed ... children decided they would help .... and fight over who had what colour spade/trowel ... all in all they did well bless them ;)

Spring Cleaning...

You can't beat a bit of sping cleaning in your PJ's to keep yourself busy ... a 15 minute job turned into a good hour and a half ... but it's done and is spick and span ... plus we had fun, Maddison helped in every way possible, from getting the toys back out when I was trying to put them away to helping copy mamma do the vacuuming :) What a well trained slave she is ;) and yes she was still in her Jammys ;)

Half baked ...

A few of my latest creations ....
Single tier, 2 tier, 3 tier nappy cakes
Winnie The Pooh nappy cake.

I love making these nappy cakes, for some strange reason I find it really relaxing!
At the minute OH and I are fighting with getting my website up and running!

Fighting with socks!

After making a couple of sock monkeys for my 2 children and also my OH, I decided to try and make a sock monster to send to a lovely virtual friend called Su. Su has really given me something to focus on and keep my spirits lifted throughout some really tough times, and is always sending little messages to check I am still alive and not letting the buggers get me down!

Woohoo I did it!

Wow I have mastered the art of blogging! ....

Ok so maybe not mastered it but I have got this far without any problems (well maybe just one ... what to name it!)

Now all I need to do is figure out everything else I need to know and what all of these other buttons do when I click them .....
