Memories to last a lifetime!

It is a year ago since the loveliest lady in the world finally got her life long wish, to be with my Grandad in Heaven. Yes this time last year I got that dreaded phone call saying my Grannybasher had fallen asleep in her chair in the afternoon.
My Gran lived for my Grandad and talked about him at every available opportunity, and towards the end she used to re read the letters that he used to send to her. In October my Dad scattered her ashes in the same place that my Grandads were scattered many years ago!

The memories live on forever, and there is not a day goes by when I don't think about her. She lives on in my children in the silly things that they picked up from her, a prime example :

Thomas says to Maddison, I want a cuddle, Maddison simply replies, tough cause I want never gets, a simple saying which we had drilled into us and I in turn have drilled it into my children.

Then at bath time, when the fingers and toes go all wrinkly ... Maddison claims that she has Grannybashers fingers (because they are all wrinkly!) which inevitably ends up in a discussion about why Grannybasher is in the sky!!

Anyway ... I am sure you have had enough of me droning on ... I don't expect comments, this blog is a big part of my life, and somewhere that I can come and have a rant or express my feelings!

so to end ...

If roses grow in heaven, Lord, then pick a bunch for me. Place them in my NANS arms and tell her there from me. Tell her that I love and miss her, and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while

Dad & Carols wedding, December 2007

To the best Grannybasher in the world, I love you and Miss you, wish you could see my
beautiful children, you would be so proud of me, and of them!
