MSE Sketch challenge - my first card of 2010!

The lovely Rainmac over on MSE has challenged us to a fantastic sketch challenge to kick off our mojo's for 2010!

I have to be honest when I saw the sketch I went into a blind panic and refused to join in, I hate sketch's as my cards always look crap with sketches and I can never follow them properly!
But I was determined that I needed to do this challenge just to a) take part and b) give it a try, if it was awful then I would vow never to follow a sketch again !

Anyway I dragged out the stash and the lovely new crafty stuff I had for christmas and made this!

I have to admit, I love it!! and found it very easy to make and follow which suprised me! I think the only thing I should have done differently should have been to raise the scallop circle on 3d pads so it had some layers about it!

*stuff* I have used:
Papers: Basic Grey Sultry and DCWV Latte mattstack
Image: Penny Black running with roses (stamped image from Gemm thankyou!)
Punch: Martha Stewart round the edge lattice punch. (thankyou OH for my fabby xmas present!)

Hi chick. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and also for your nice words xxx Sorry I've been a while getting back to you but it's been a bit mad here !!!

You were asking how I did the shaped bits on the Anya card. They do look like nesties, I agree, but they are actually done with a Martha Stewart Flourish Edged punch. It gives a single 'bow' shape which you can use along a border. Or if you have a square or rectangular piece of card and just punch once in the centre, you end up with what you saw on my card.

I just tried to see where you can get them from and everywhere I looked it said that they were out of stock. I headd a rumour that these were being discontinued but I am not 100% certain. You may be able to still get them from the US perhaps?

I saw on our profile while I was looking for your e-mail addy that you are in Blyth!! We got our English Setter from there many years ago and it is a lovely part of the country.

Anyway, hope this helps hun. Hugs, Dawny xx
